    Synopsis

In this beautiful retelling of the classic Cinderella, paper engineer Matthew Reinhart celebrates the timelessness of the original story while infusing his interpretation with a fresh new feel. In 6 intricately illustrated and engineered spreads, Reinhart portrays the fairy tale in stunning dimension, magically transforming mice into steeds and a pumpkin into a carriage fit for a princess. With twirling ballroom dancers, glass slippers, and a ball gown to die for, this charming story of Cinderella is now more enchanting than ever.

    Publishers Weekly

A favorite character comes alive in 3-D in Cinderella: A Pop-Up Fairy Tale by Matthew Reinhart, as castles, gowns and silver pumpkin carriages burst from the pages and characters literally transform before readers' eyes. When the clock strikes 12, Cinderella folds from riches back to rags. In addition to the center fold-outs on each main page, miniature pop-up booklets are placed at the bottom corner of each page featuring more 3-D scenes, such as a rat folding out into a footman, and the climactic fitting of the glass slipper. November 24, 2009: Micheal Reinhart put a lot of thought, detail and magic into this book. It's almost like he knows the spirit of a little girls heart. My daughters favorite bedtime story. I practically know it by heart. Worth every penny.

July 22, 2009: I originally bought this book for my niece (4 years ago) and ordered one for myself for when I had my own children to read to. I just shared this book with my daughter today (she is 3), and she was so thrilled with this book! It was such a "special" read. It was very difficult to keep her hands off of the pop ups because she just wanted to touch everything! We'll have to keep this book up out of reach, but I know she will want me to read it to her all the time! I will be buying ALL books by Matthew Reinhart! He is amazing! a truly magical illustrator!
