      December 26, 2008: If you are someone who has just completed a book on the basics (recommended: "Chess For Everyone" or "Learn Chess, A Complete Course") and want a book on basic tactics then this is a good place to start. Tactics are broken down by type (Forks, Pins, etc.) though there are no opening traps (recommended: "Winning Chess Traps") where it shows how the traps are arrived at, this book does give you what is important.

      I Also Recommend: Winning Chess Traps, Chess For Everyone.

      October 23, 2008: This is not just a book for kids! Adults, who are just beyond the beginning level of play will benefit from it too. Tactics are what win (or lose) most games at the novice level. This book breaks down the different tactics by theme. I would suggest getting this book along with "Winning Chess Traps" which covers tactics in the openings creating a perfect balance.
