    Synopsis

This book shows that autism can be treated by reducing the neurological inflammation that is part of the disease process, rather than simply masking the symptoms with drugs like Ritalin and Prozac. The authors have have seen autistic behaviors improve dramatically or disappear completely with appropriate medical treatment. The book reviews the medical literature regarding the biological nature of the disease, including the potential connection between vaccines and autism. The foreword is by Katie Wright, whose parents--Bob and Suzanne Wright--founded Autism Speaks.

The future medical book for Autism.by PaperDollDL

December 05, 2009: I think this book is a must read for anyone who is using, or thinking of using Bio-medical treatments for their child on the Autism Spectrum. It may also apply to some other autoimmune diseases.

That said, it is not an easy book to read if you have not gone beyond high school biology courses. If you haven't, don't let that stop you, just take your time.

If you do have some medical background, this book should be taken seriously as a teaching tool or a review. (Some things came back to me, but I may have spent a couple days on the same 2 pages). It was worth the time spent and became a "mission" to complete.

Dr. Jepson has written a "textbook" about a disease that many in the "traditional" medical community will scoff at and do. However, my son has benefited from supplements and diet changes, that "main stream" medicine will not usually consider.

If your child needed something to live a more "normal" life, would you not go looking for that something, regardless of what "professionals" told you?

Dr. Jespon has put a voice to our questions, that nagging idea that we could be doing something to make our child's life more meaningful . This is the future, now.

I Also Recommend: Evidence of Harm.
