June 07, 2003: This was one of the best books I've ever bought. I'm a high school social studies teacher and I frequently use bits from Gonick's book for activities, illustrations, and other ways of enhancement for my classes and lessons. The best thing about the book is the fact that it is historically accurate, detailed, and, most of all, entertaining. Also, the material is very well connected and organized chronologically so that everything makes sense. Everything you need to know about American history and everything your textbook didn't make clear is in this book.

September 19, 2002: In eighth grade I stunk at history as I hated everything that had to do with it. I went from an 86 to 126 on my final grade! My teacher showed me how easy it was through common sense and humor. I thought 'Why don't they make a book like that?' and then when I started searching for books because I was actually interested in history for once, I found this book. You don't understand how special this is. A fourteen year old girl actually liking history. Anyway, I found this book and if I didn't understand something at school, I'd just look it up and there it was, in a hilarious cartoon! It is so cool. You must have this book. It's great for kids and adults alike. My teacher has read it so many times that when he turns the pages they crinkle. The jokes are actually funny. This book is great if ya just don't get it. Ya know what I mean?
