“I had been Jonathan’s slave for about a year when he told me he wanted to sell me at an auction. I wasn’t in any condition to respond when he told me this.” So begins Carrie’s tale of uncompromising sexual adventure. Set in San Francisco and Napa Valley, this is an erotic journey into the netherworld of slave auctions and training regimes. Imagine Story of O starring a Berkeley Ph.D. in comparative lit who moonlights as a bike messenger and has a penchant for irony, self-analysis, and anal sex. “My favorite neo-Victorian erotic romance writer ... bring on the ponies!” — Susie Bright

November 21, 2009: This is a book that will not appeal to a large audience. It is definitely not something that most women would read...unless they have fantasies of becoming a sex slave and sold to the highest bidder. It is interesting to see how the title character relates to and reacts to those around her and her self chosen situation. Erotic at times, but also difficult to read at times. Seems to me the author sometimes lost track of just what the story was about and "wandered into the weeds".
If you are looking for something erotic and distrubing or just have an interest in the mind set of volunteer sex slaves, it fits the bill. Otherwise, don't bother.Reader Rating:

June 04, 2009: BDSM is one of my favorite genres, but I was a little disappointed with this book. While the imagery was sexy the author's voice just wasn't strong enough using the first person narrative. An interesting read, but I've found better examples of the genre.
