Synopsis

Drawing on concepts and studies from political science and public management, Gormley (government and public policy, Georgetown U.) and Balla (political science and international affairs, Georgetown U.) explore the issues of bureaucratic accountability and performance in the United States. The topic is approached from the perspectives of bounded rationality, principal-agent theory, interest group mobilization, and network theory.
