    September 29, 2008: Fahrenheit 451 is a really great book. That being said, if you're the kind of person who buys cliffnotes of books that are less than 200 pages because you can't be bothered to take the time to read them, you can probably just save yourself the money and not buy this either. You're not going to learn anything. In fact, if you even considered reading the cliffnotes to Fahrenheit 451 for one moment, you could probably just forgo reading the actual book as well, because you're not going to get anything out of it. You fail. End of discussion.

    December 29, 2005: Fahrenheit 451 is the book you must add to your list of favorite science-fiction stories.This story will give you a whole new outlook on how reading books affects your life.This may seem like a science-fiction story which it is,but also a great life lesson books. Guy Montag is a fireman,not any fireman but a fireman who enjoys starting fire.His job is starting fires because books are illegal and Guy Montag is just the guy who will keep things just that way.He belives in himself and his job.Its his duty.Montag is married to Mildred.Mildred is happy with her life and doesn't question much of anything.Montag is content also until he meets Clairesse.Clairesse is only around 17 years old but has a special quality about herself.She has a different attitude towards life.She soon meets Montag and they become friends.They have different views on ideas of happiness and the role books play in their lives.In this futuristic world the ideal world is to be free of books and enjoy only the good things in life.No one should be unhappy and books make people unhappy.Life is wonderful until Montag wonders about his life and his happiness.He journeys though the story encountering many obstacles along the way. Ray Bradbury uses this novel to make people aware of what a society would be like it one would exist which is possible.The thoughts of how people could conform to things not really understanding the value or the importance of it is really frightening.His novel bring out much to think about if people would become content and not question things except their own enjoyment. Captain Beatty is the chief fireman at the station.He appears to be proud of his job and stand firm on the belief of their government and what the people want.He however is quite well read.He is intelligient and is against Montags search for answers about life and happiness and reasoning. I think the book was quite realistic in many way and the thought of a world coming to this is something to think about.A world will basically your freedom has been taken away through your mind is quite scarey. I would recommend this book although it is a science-fiction not my first choice it is a good written novel
