Synopsis

This book first teaches learners how to do quantum mechanics, and then provides them with a more insightful discussion of what it means. Fundamental principles are covered, quantum theory presented, and special techniques developed for attacking realistic problems. The book¿s two-part coverage organizes topics under basic theory, and assembles an arsenal of approximation schemes with illustrative applications. For physicists and engineers.

May 04, 2007: Mr. Griffiths wrote a book which is easy and amusing to read, but not a great text for beginning-to-moderate knowledge of QM. Everyone in my class ended up purchasing Quantum Mechanics Demystified because of the severe lack of examples in Mr. G's book. On a good point, one does work harder at trying to figure out how he obtained some of the formulas. Some of his problems stretched the limit of what they should reinforce. I relate it to learning Spanish and the questions are in French. Fortunately, QM Demystified assisted greatly in guiding us to the solution. If your instructor insists on using this book, have some good supplemental material available.
