      Synopsis

From the creators of no less than five New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series comes a wonderful new epic sextet set in a world of heroes, dragons, gods, and magic

      Publishers Weekly

Authors Weis and Hickman embark on a dragon series very different from their most famous series, DragonLance, and marked by deeper mythological underpinnings, a more realized world and tighter rendition. New gods have come into existence, beating down the gods of the Vindras. As their rising leader, Skylan Ivorson must reclaim the sacred dragon bones and bring his people together, but only if he can overcome his worst enemy: himself. Stefan Rudnicki has a great baritone voice that, while masculine, is effective with voicing female characters. At times, some character voices are not consistent throughout the reading, which causes confusion, but overall, Rudnicki's command is remarkable. His tone ably creates the atmosphere for raging battles or intimate encounters. A Tor hardcover (Reviews, Nov. 24). (Jan.)

October 26, 2009: I picked this book up for two reasons; it's a Weis and Hickman book and the cover just said buy me. Once I started reading I was quickly drawn into the story and realized that Weis and Hickman have put their finger on a yet another great project! Their writing style is very engaging and their characters leap off the page. The reader quickly finds him/her self cheering for the heroes and loathing the heels in the story. By the time one turns the last page one starts to wonder what happens next and cannot wait till the next installment. The only problem with this writing duo is that they can't crank out enough material quickly enough to keep their readers happy! I salute Margaret and Tracy and wish them the very best.

September 11, 2009: I liked the book even though it was a bit hard for me to read sometimes. It took me some time to really get into the story but as it went on I really enjoyed how they presented Skylan as this arrogant little kid. Most of us can relate to that in some way shape or form. I will look forward to reading the next book that comes out in this series as soon as possible :)
