Works for the new Tour as well!by NYC_at_Heart

October 26, 2009: Although the Tour isn't included in this book, it still works for this model. I upgraded to my BB Tour after having a Palm Treo 800w & needed a resource to guide me thru the MANY apps & functions--and not being Windows-based like the Treo, things weren't as "normal" as I was used to. This book proved very helpful. Many of the teeny-tiny icons of indiv keys throughout the book are difficult to see/read, but that didn't make for a negative experience. I'm a very visual person, so I would liked to have seen more pictures, but it wasn't a big deal really. Overall I'm very happy with this book & wouldn't be as adept with using my new favorite gadget as I am without it! Kudos to the authors. Worth the $18 member price paid.

Blackberry for Dummies 3rd Edition Reviewby MarkBailey

October 13, 2009: Blackberry for Dummies by Robert Kao and Dante Sarigumba gives you a very basic introduction to the Blackberry, but it left me still wanting more.

The book covers the built in Smartphone functions, such as contacts, calendar, to dos, phone and browser. It also covers multimedia features such as the camera, music, video and GPS.

The part of tens, a feature of the "For Dummies" series, reviews Blackberry accessories, applications, games and websites optimized for viewing on a mobile phone.

In conclusion, Blackberry for Dummies is a great starter manual for Blackberry users who need basic information on where to begin and what to do. If this is your first Blackberry, then this is the book for you. I had to go onto the web to find more technical and advanced help for the Blackberry such as www.blackberry.com forums, www.cranberry.com and RIM's site.
