This book for IT professionals and network administrators describes installation, configuration and administration of BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange, with detailed information on planning and implementing BlackBerry Enterprise Server deployment. It also provides background information on the BlackBerry architecture, security, and disaster recovery planning, picking up where the manufacturer's documentation leaves off. Written by mobile and wireless technology experts, its approach to setting up the server, provisioning users and devices, and implementing administrative techniques is straightforward. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server platform extends corporate messaging and collaboration services to BlackBerry devices, from the IBM Lotus Domino and Novell GroupWise messaging platforms as well as Microsoft Exchange. It supports management and administration of those devices, and also supports deployment of third-party applications to the BlackBerry device platform.
