Small Bear gets pains in his knees and aches in his legs. He's outgrown his little bed just in time for the new baby to use it. But Small Bear isn't too sure he likes having a baby sister - she pops him on the nose with her fist - until he stretches out in his bigger bed and wakes up feeling fine.
Small Bear outgrows the bed his father made him when he was a baby--and none too soon.
More Reviews and RecommendationsStan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia. They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art. They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art. During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory. When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines. After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy. Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt . It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the "Berenstain Bears".
Over 50 children's books later, Stan and Jan still plan all of their books together -- both write the stories, and both write the pictures. They live outside of Philadelphia in the country.

June 08, 2007: This tale tells of how a 1st-born kid can adjust to the attention taken away from him or her and given to a new baby. It isn't perfect, since all 1st-borns react differently, but it is close. But, it teaches a kid how to behave with younger and smaller kids.

September 12, 2003: I used to read and collect the Berenstein Bears books when i was a child. I absolutely loved them. I remember i would ask my mom to order the books from the 'Lucky' bookorder club at school or she would buy them from 'Hickelbee's'. I'am 24 years old now i highly encourage parents to read these wonderful books to their children!
