May 30, 2009: Last year my daughter took the AP World History Exam using the Kaplan publishing company study materials and received a 4 out of 5 on the exam. This year she needed to take the AP US History Exam. I went to Barnes and Noble and they did not have the Kaplan in stock so I got the Barrons. She would say that it was hard to work with but didn't want me to go and spend any more money on another study guide. After trying to work with it for a few weeks she told me that the layout of the book and it's focus on essays was just not not working for her. She tried to make it work but couldn't. I went out and found the Kaplan at another bookstore (it was cheaper than the Barrons). She felt alot more comfortable and prepared for the exam. We shall see come July.
