Gyo Fujikawa is one of the truly great preschool book artists. Her soft style of painting is pleasing and always interestingyou can visit the illustrations again and again without getting bored. In Babies she has given us a bundle of babies busy doing what babies do. As in all her books, Fujikawa's baby landscapes portray many different ethnic groups.

March 30, 2009: A friend of mine bought this book for my son, John, when he was a baby.
She explained that when she read it to her son and got to the part that says, "But good or bad, all babies like to be hugged and cuddled and loved," she would hug on her son as he sat in her lap.I did that with John and his younger brother, Scott, whether they remember it or not! They're 19 and 15 now, but we still have the original book. I always give this book as a baby gift, no matter what else I buy!I Also Recommend: Baby's Colors.

September 27, 2007: This has been a family favorite since I was young. As the oldest of eleven children I would watch my mother read this to the little ones. As she read she would give them hugs, cuddles, and love at the appropriate times through the book. I now do so with my children. They not only love being read to, but that extra special attention.
