This is an extremely helpful anatomy atlas. I love the layout, and how it separates the bones, muscles, etc. accordingly. This is a great asset to anyone studying the human body.

As a Professor of Anatomy and Course Director of a Clinical Human Anatomy Course for medical students, I have reviewed numerous atlases. I believe that this atlas is the best available because of the quality and accuracy of the drawings. While some other Human Anatomy Atlases are cartoonish by virtue of the over-embellishment of the anatomy, this atlas depicts anatomy as accurately as it can be depicted...
Praise for this book:
Impressive...remarkably effective. - Journal of the American Medical Association
[Five stars] A brilliant masterpiece, filled with anatomical illustrations of great accuracy, appropriately labeled and aesthetically appealing. - Doody's Review
Atlas of Anatomy contains everything students need to successfully tackle the daunting challenges of anatomy.
Complete with exquisite, full-color illustrations by award-winning artists Markus Voll and Karl Wesker, the atlas is organized to lead students step-by-step through each region of the body. Each region opens with the foundational skeletal framework. The subsequent chapters build upon this foundation, adding the muscles, then organs, then vessels, then nerves, and finally presenting topographic anatomy for a comprehensive view. Each unit closes with surface anatomy accompanied by questions that ask the reader to apply knowledge learned for the real-life physical examination of patients.
Features:
This atlas provides everything students need in just the right format, making the mastery of human anatomy eminently achievable.

Description: This atlas is a brilliant masterpiece, filled with anatomical illustrations of great accuracy, appropriately labeled and aesthetically appealing. It flows logically and systematically through the regions of the body: back, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, upper and lower extremities, head and neck, and neuroanatomy.
Purpose: "This is intended to provide a foundation for the study of anatomy for medical and other health professions students completing a human anatomy course with dissection. It also is valuable for established health professionals who wish to review the relationship of anatomical structures or need to show a student or a patient a key anatomical relationship. "
Audience: This atlas is indispensable not only for medical students enrolled in a beginning course in anatomy and medical residents in surgical specialties, but also for health professions practitioners, when in need of reviewing forgotten anatomical concepts.
Features: "Regional anatomy and dissection approaches are discussed throughout the book, in different chapters. Limits and contents of the respective regions are described in summary form in detailed tables and very clear schematic diagrams. However, landmarks could be added and marked, to help students learn important surface anatomical relationships that are crucial for developing appropriate physical exam skills. "
Assessment: This is a very useful atlas, especially considering it is a single comprehensive volume and not very expensive, when compared with other atlases such as the multivolume Thieme Atlas of Anatomy, Schuenke et al. (Thieme International, 2007) and the more expensive Atlas of Human Anatomy, 4th edition, Netter (Elsevier, 2006).
