About the Author:
David Swenson began the practice of yoga in 1969 at the age of 13. He found Ashtanga in 1973 through David Williams. In 1974 K. Pattabhi Jois (Founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, India) made his first trip to the US and David began studies directly with him at that time. He then traveled to Mysore, India in 1977 and learned the entire system in its original form. David is recognized today as one of the foremost authorities of Ashtanga Yoga.
Swenson's book is one of the best, most comprehensive presentations of this yogic school one could hope to find.

June 22, 2009: This is the perfect guide for your home practice. I have attended a few Ashtanga workshops, but I needed the guide to help me continue at home. With enough practice, I will have everything memorized, but until then I will use this daily.

February 09, 2009: I have been eyeing this book for years, and thought I wish they could put it into a format that I could lay open and do my practice. Well here it is, it is perfect, it is great for beginners because he explains everything. I would recommend this book for novice to expect.
