    Library Journal

In this revised edition of her 1992 book, Martinet (The Faux Pas Survival Guide) assures readers that mingling is a learned art that anyone can master. To this end, she offers ready-to-use opening lines, a chapterful of tactics for escaping bad conversations, and antidotes for recovering from rough situations such as dressing wrong or having to socialize with truly arrogant individuals. New sections deal with subjects like dating, meditating before events, and feeling okay when alone. A fun, practical read; recommended for all libraries. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

December 16, 2006: This is a great book to have on hand all year, but especially at the holidays, that time of year when many of us are faced with parties where we only know a few of the attendees. It is a fun read. I have already used the 'human sacrifice' technique several times!!! I love he humorous manner in which the author approaches this subject.
