The Physical Pharmacy Capsules give excellent examples of calculations used in the pharmacy setting on a daily basis.
Purpose:The author's objective to introduce pharmacy students to the various dosage forms and manufacturing processes used in our industry is met in comprehensive fashion. This is a much needed reference for pharmacy students and anyone else interested in the pharmaceutical industry in general.
Audience:The book is written for pharmacy students. The authors are excellent authorities in this field.
Features:From tablets, capsules, and prodrugs to more complex dosage forms such as osmotic pumps and transdermal patches, this book covers the theory and manufacturing principles behind all pharmaceutical dosage forms. The incorporation of the SOAP format is a timely and welcome addition considering today's students use this tool on a daily basis. I particularly enjoyed the section on disperse systems as a review of my previous professional training. The pharmaceutics and clinical case studies give the reader some examples of real world problems and solutions.
Assessment:This book will be indispensable to today's and tomorrow's pharmacy students. Furthermore, anyone in the pharmaceutical industry can use it to review and refresh previous experiences and lessons.
