      Synopsis

Animals should definitely not wear clothing.

...because a snake would lose it, a billy goat would eat it for lunch, and it would always be wet on a walrus! This well-loved book by Judi and Ron Barrett shows the very youngest why animals' clothing is perfect...just as it is.

      Annotation

Pictures of animals wearing clothes show why this would be a ridiculous custom for them to adopt.

May 04, 2008: I first discovered this book in 2nd grade in 1978 and would take it from the library continuously. I now make it a point to give it as a gift at any baby shower I attend so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.

January 26, 2003: I know this book says from 5 to 8, but my 4 year old got it for his 4th birthday and thinks it is hysterical. We especially like the picture of the hen!!! I think this is one to read to children of all ages. It is great for the kids and gives the parents a good laugh - very important in my book!
