Written as an engaging story, this book shows how mistaken views can cause people to misread situations and exacerbate the issues they wish to improve. Arguing that it is only after they understand themselves and get their internal house in order that they can correctly confront external conflicts, the book shows what can be done to make that happen, and how to make inner peace a potent tool for achieving outer satisfaction.

April 13, 2009: I found this book to be an easy read and very helpful in keeping it clear in my mind that if I want to work for peace, both inner and outer, I need to understand myself and others as beings not objects. Very practical diagrams and illustrations. Although I was already thinking along these lines, this book helped to make situations concrete. I put it to use daily. A practical guide to the "I-Thou" relationship.

October 02, 2007: I'm not sure there is a more important volume in print today. The human condition being what it is, this book is the manual for ourselves and all those with whom we interact.
