December 06, 2009: Although probably not a good choice for someone just learning to cast on, this book gives a comprehensive history of Fair Isle knitting, as well as many charted designs. It is not just patterns, but enables the experienced knitter to include Fair Isle designs into her own patterns. Fair Isle is functional as well as beautiful, and this book will help the knitter to make it so.
