      May 04, 2003: The great sorrow in reading this work is understanding that the vibrant, intelligent, and highly moral young man who wrote it was killed before living his life fully. He was killed while realizing a lifetime ideal, and helping to defend the people of Israel serving with his unit in Lebanon . Alec Singer is a very good writer, and a very good human being. This work bears natural comparison with the letters of another hero of Israel, Yoni Netanyahu. May both their memories be blessed.
