    Synopsis

The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure contains the three-step holistic program to total recovery that is the basis of the miraculous success of Passages. In this revolutionary book, you will learn: The three steps to permanent sobriety, The four causes of dependency, How to create a personalized, holistic treatment program to completely cure your dependency, How your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs are key factors in your recovery, How to stimulate your body's self-healing potential to be forever free of dependency.

"Freedom from dependency starts with understanding that alcohol, drugs, and addictive behaviors are not the real problems," says Chris Prentiss, cofounder of Passages Addiction Cure Center. "Alcohol, street drugs, nicotine, prescription medications, food bingeing, gambling, and the like are merely the substances or behaviors you or your loved ones are using to cope with the real problems-anything from deep emotional pain, ill health, or depression to hypoglycemia, a sluggish thyroid, or brain-wave pattern imbalances. Once the underlying problems are discovered and cured, the need for drugs, alcohol, or addictive behavior will disappear-along with the craving."

Prentiss should know. His son Pax was addicted to heroin, cocaine, and alcohol for ten years. They sought help everywhere, but Pax relapsed again and again. In desperation, they finally created their own holistic, hand-tailored program that was a complete break from all other programs and that combined several effective therapies. It saved Pax's life. Together, father and son founded Passages Addiction Cure Center to help others find their own freedom.

For decades, we've been hearing that alcoholism andaddiction are incurable diseases, but The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure proves that this is a dangerous myth and that the label of "alcoholic" or "addict" destroys the promise of full recovery. Today, thousands are being freed from the old, limiting paradigms by using the groundbreaking approach spelled out in this book. A visionary and an innovator, Chris Prentiss brings new hope to people everywhere who are dependent on drugs, alcohol, or addictive behaviors.

    Midwest Book Review

A critically important and thoroughly "reader friendly" instructional guide to recovery. . . . The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure is a core addition to personal, professional, substance abuse treatment center, and community library health and medicine reference collections and reading lists.

November 15, 2009: If you have tried pretty much all other approaches to quit drinking and nothing has worked, PLEASE buy this book. I went through years of drinking and trying to quit; I sort of knew what I needed to do and that was to get to the root of my drinking. Even through therapists, AA (which were useless and depressing), medications, you name it, I tried it - and nothing worked. So, I splurged and bought the CD's and listened to them. Yes, the music is corny, but the message is impeccable and one that you can carry each new day of sobriety. This book works best for people whom have tried everything because the book goes into the other failed resources that I mentioned above. I should have written this book myself, because it totally mirrored my thoughts on ending my drinking days. I cannot stress enough, give this book a chance, and please don't read into just another self help book author trying to make a buck. This book works but you have to be ready to quit and must be serious about making changes in your life. Imagine a beauty makeover; this gives you the fresh start one needs to makeover not just the outside, but the inside. As of yesterday, I am sober 32 days. Somehow this sobriety is different because my cravings are gone - I don't sneak alcohol like I used to whenever I would quit before, and I am doing this for me. Welcome yourself to a new 'you' and buy this book. It may save you, your family, etc. And one other thing: Often times the guilt gets in the way after we have quit an addiction and this book really helps with the guilty feelings of hurting others for so long. The guilt carried was always the main reason why I would relapse and also the not being able to deal with current conditions of my life, but this book gives us tools to deal with those things and stay sober.

August 11, 2009: I found this book to be very enlightening. The concepts are easy to follow and understand. Though not a strong A.A. supporter with its contents and belief systems, I found this book does not bash the A.A. way. I believe this book can and will help those who apply principles written within. Prentiss has opened my eyes as to new approaches and avenues. I was able to look more deeply into myself and find out the "whys" of my struggles. KD
