      Synopsis

The bodies seem to be piling up at Enderby Hall. First, the very wealthy Richard Abernethi dies suddenly. Then, his sister is murdered with a hatchet. Several days later, her companion is sent a sliver of wedding cake steeped in arsenic. No wonder the family solicitor calls in master sluth Hercule Poirot.

      Biography

Agatha Christie is nearly synonymous with upper-class British mysteries, for good reason. She set the standard for the genre in over 60 novels and dozens of short stories, also creating two classic detectives: the fastidious Belgian, Hercule Poirot, and English spinster Jane Marple. No one could match Christie's knack for weaving clues into her stories, then turning the whole thing inside out -- shocking her readers every time.

May 07, 2009: I loved how in the begining of the book Aunt Cora made the surprising remark that her brother Richard was murdered and then instantly she was brutally murdered in her cottage with a hatchet. This book is great. You have a family full of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and any one of them could be a potential killer. Wonderful characterzations, surprising twists and turns, two shocking crimes during the course of the novel. The ending is incredible I was shocked by the killer's idetnity and motive and you will be surprised too.

January 06, 2009: First released under the title "Funerals are Fatal" this book is an excellent example of Agatha Christie's writing style. She keeps you guessing until the very end. I absolutely LOVE her books, which is probably why I own over 70 of them! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

I Also Recommend: Hallowe'en Party (Hercule Poirot Series), A Caribbean Mystery (Miss Marple Series), Nemesis (Miss Marple Series).
