    Synopsis

Dr. Jonathan Weber, Harvard professor and biblical scholar, is looking forward to his sabbatical year on an archaeological dig in Israel. But a spectacular find that seems to be an archaeologist's dream-come-true becomes a nightmare that could be the death rattle of Christianity. Meanwhile, Weber's strong interest in Shannon Jennings, daughter of the dig's director, is an exhilarating complication.

Carefully researched and compellingly written, this fast-paced thriller takes you from the dust of an archaeological dig to the laboratories of dedicated scientists to the halls of political and religious power, where world reaction is instant, fierce, and shattering. Moreover, A Skeleton in God's Closet explores the tension between doubt and faith, science and religion, and one man's determination to find the truth - no matter what the cost.

    Annotation

From the author of Pontius Pilate comes a fascinating novel of archaeological adventure. The evidence seems incontestable: bones unearthed in an Israeli tomb are those of Jesus of Nazareth. But which is the hoax . . . the archaeological find or the Resurrection itself?

June 09, 2008: I truly enjoyed this book. It was nice to pick up a book and not have to worry what was going to be inside. This book was very entertaining and put forward a good message. It had me wondering the whole time what would happen if this scenario did actually play out.

Great read for scholars and mystery enthusiasts.by Anonymous

May 15, 2005: This book will become a classic! It is a great example of exciting mystery adventure by a scholar who conveys accurate information about a topic. In this case, the topic is Biblical Archaeology. It is interesting that this book 'predicts,' in a manner of speaking, the new Pope's name as Benedict XIV, a decade before the death of John Paul II.
