When a horrifying attack leaves one of the four members of the Women's Murder Club struggling for her life, the others fight to keep a madman behind bars before anyone else is hurt.
And Lindsay Boxer and her new partner in the San Francisco police department run flat-out to stop a series of kidnappings that has electrified the city: children are being plucked off the streets together with their nannies--but the kidnappers aren't demanding ransom. Amid uncertainty and rising panic, Lindsay juggles the possibility of a new love with an unsolvable investigation, and the knowledge that one member of the club could be on the brink of death.
And just when everything appears momentarily under control, the case takes a terrifying turn, putting an entire city in lethal danger. Lindsay must make a choice she never dreamed she'd face--with no certainty that either outcome has more than a prayer of success.
With the Women's Murder Club down one member after a brutal attack, Lindsay Boxer has her hands full: she's trying to stop a nasty bunch from snatching children off the street and find time for the new love of her life. Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
More Reviews and RecommendationsNot making any bones about his bid for success, James Patterson once declared he wanted to be known as “the king of the page-turners.” While that may seem like a pretty grand ambition, Patterson is as worthy of that title as any author working today.

November 26, 2008: I have not read such a good book, like this one in a long time. It had me hooked from the first page. James patterson uses great detail which helps it to be easily understood. I have a problem getting into books but this one I could not put down. I really did enjoy this book. Once you thought nothing else could happen, then something did and your hooked all over again. This book is interesting, it is sad at times, happy at others. I would recommend this book to anyone and actually I have. Im really happy that one of my teachers told me I should read this book, because it truely was a great book.

December 15, 2007: This book lagged on for so long. When the ending finally came about it ended fast and left you with a million questions. I felt that this book was a drag, it needed more. Charachters were introduced but really had no effect on the story. I love Pattersons' books but this one was not my favorite.
