      Synopsis

Making basic numbers fun to learn, this board book has the young reader count from 1 to 10 using some of New York's most famous symbols. The Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, apples, subway cars, yellow taxis, and more are all depicted here using beautiful illustrations, vivid colors, and detailed design. The book also includes a complete bilingual location list in both English and Spanish.

      Time Out New York Kids

Kevin Somers's bold, simple illustrations represent numbers one through ten using familiar images. Author Puck explains the book's contents [in English and Spanish], neatly sidestepping interborough rivalry.

May 04, 2008: I was so excited when I found these books! They are perfect for my little nephew and when my 4 month old gets older, they will definitely be a part of his library. The illustrations are amazing and we are learning a new language as well! I hope they do all of the states. Nice layout too! Sounds Funny is great too. These are a must have for all kids learning how to count and about sounds!

March 19, 2008: My 28 month-old daughter loves this book. She likes the bright colors and simple illustrations, especially the purple subway trains. Even better, my husband enjoys reading the book with her. He is a proud New Yorker that gets a kick out of seeing his favorite things in the city in the book.
