    Synopsis

It all begins with the paranoid delusions of a half-insane hero called Rorschach. But is Rorschach really insane or has he in fact uncovered a plot to murder super-heroes and, even worse, millions of innocent civilians? On the run from the law, Rorschach reunites with his former teammates in a desperate attempt to save the world and their lives, but what they uncover will shock them to their very core and change the face of the planet! Following two generations of masked superheroes from the close of World War II to the icy shadow of the Cold War comes this groundbreaking comic story -- the story of The Watchmen.

Customer Rating for this product is 5 out of 5 A fantastic Story
Karl, not normally a comic book reader, 08/21/2008

I'm not normally a reader of comics, graphic novels or whatever you would insist on calling them. When I noticed all the hype around this one thanks to the movie trailers that had started up, I decided that I might as well figure out what it's all about. The Watchmen was a fantastic surprise. It's not only the best graphic novel that I've read, but it's one of the best stories I've ever read. It's story is unique, complicated and fantastic. Even if you don't normally read this sort of thing, it's definitely worth your time.

Customer Rating for this product is 5 out of 5 BEST COMIC BOOK EVER WRITTEN!
David Austin Smith, a Bookseller, 08/20/2008

From the shockingly original comic book covers to the many pages of background material enclosed at the end of every issue the release of The Watchmen was a historic event. During the summer of 1986 I stumbled across this title in a Comic Book shop in Alexandria VA. and I was immediatily hooked. The unheard of artistic realism, the repeating symbolism of the smiley face, and the eerie similarity to the feelings of DOOM of the Cold War events of Reagan Era America all left you wanting more. If you like Graphic Novels, if you like Mysteries, if you like books, this is the one for you.
