Synopsis

An irresistible blend of romance, intrigue, and suspense, this timeless historical adventure recalls the terror following the French Revolution, when mobs ruled the streets of Paris and hundreds of royals were condemned to face the guillotine daily. The only hope of many was a courageous leader who spirited aristocrats across the Channel to England and safety.

Annotation

In 1792, during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror, an English aristocrat known to be an ineffectual fop is actually a master of disguises who, with a small band of dedicated friends, undertakes dangerous missions to save members of the French nobility from the guillotine.

When I read the prologue for this book I didn't want to read anymore of it. The prologue basically said that this book has no epic battles or fight scenes but is a romance. Now for some people I can understand liking that, but I am not one of those people. The other part I just didn't like about this book was it could have been a great book, add a little more detail and more action. I saw so many parts that could have been spectacular. I will say this if people are mad at me because they love this book, all i can say was I was forced to read it.

This entreeging, romantic, and suspenseful tale that should be read by people my age agin and again. Orczy did a fantastic job. She made it to be about how good always triuphs over evil. In my opinion, i think the star of this book is none other than Margarrite. It's a wonderful book. Trust me. I know.
