Part Two Of Two Parts
In this powerful novel about an aspiring young author's assault on the citadel of New York publishing, Hawke launches his career with an oversized manuscript that becomes an instant success. Toasted by critics and swept along on a tide of popularity, he gives himself over to the lush life that gilds artistic success.
This story makes us the companion of a young writer caught up in the glamour and intrigue of "life at the top" in New York. It suggests the life and career of Thomas Wolfe.

Wonderful book!

I bought this after reading 'Winds of War' and 'War and Remembrance' - I was so impressed by Wouk's ability to storytell. 'Youngblood Hawke' was a cinch to get into right from the get-go and it kept on moving. Wouk's ability to weave subplots combined with his attention to detail made this novel a wonderful read! Every time I put the book down, I found myself wanting to know what would happen next and I'd pick it right back up again.
